Leeds United director of football Victor Orta has once again come under scrutiny from the fans with journalist Conor McGilligan calling the Spaniard out following the defeat against Everton.

What has Victor Orta done now?

It was another difficult weekend of action for the Yorkshire side with three points going to their relegation rivals in Saturday’s meeting at Goodison Park.

And it seems as if Orta let the travelling fans know what he thought in response to their chants of ‘sack the board’ and ‘Orta it’s time to go’.

The Whites now find themselves rooted in the relation zone following this result and still remain without a permanent manager in the dugout.

Yet, as relayed by McGilligan on Twitter, it seems as if Orta once again was telling the fans what he thought amid the club’s sticky situation: “Good old Victor, mocking the fans again,” he said.

What does this mean for Orta’s future at Leeds?

The immediate focus at Leeds has to be on keeping the club in the Premier League with the Yorkshire side at serious risk of returning to the second tier in the coming months.

Fortunately, the bottom end of the table is still incredibly tight but with the likes of Everton and Nottingham Forest picking up some results in recent weeks, they may find themselves left behind soon.

And it is apparent the temporary managerial bandage with the number of coaches stepping up is simply not working with just one point earned from their three games.

But when the travelling fans voiced their thoughts on the club’s current state, Orta once again hit back instead of remaining professional.

This is not the first time the Spaniard has hit the headlines with Orta previously seen in the stands of Elland Road hitting back at the fans.

And he has previously apologised for his actions towards the fans but it is likely the fans would rather he acted to sort out the current issues at the club rather than spoke.

There were reports earlier in the season that Orta had caught the attention of Chelsea owner Todd Boehly as a potential option to add to the London club.

And on the back of the frustrations the Leeds fans currently are directing towards the Spaniard, some may wish the Blues had followed up on their interest in him.

As the tension grows once again between the board and the fans, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Orta at Leeds with the Spaniard unable to hold back his emotions.
